The buildings existing roof had an area which was uncovered and used for plant which allowed for a roof infill to accommodate additional floorspace. The roof infill did not lead to the height of the roof increasing. Lanpro then submitted a full planning application for a roof infill extension which allowed 4 additional flats to be accommodated along with external changes including new rendering and windows. The site is located within the City Centre conservation area and close to a number of listed buildings. It is also positioned along one of the most historic streets in Norwich but is a more modern building. Therefore, the external changes proposed were required to represent high quality to ensure no harm was caused to the historic setting of the building.
