DigiTech Factory, City College, Norwich

Lanpro secured full planning permission for a Digi Tech Factory building at City College Norwich.

The design concept of the building is to create spaces that are more representative of the workplace than traditional teaching spaces.

Lanpro worked with the College in preparing the successful bid for LEP funding for the scheme and then led on the preparation and submission of the planning application and provided the landscape design as well as utilising our in-house heritage service.

Lanpro worked closely with the project team, particularly with the project architect Coffey Architects to develop the landscaping proposals. The landscape design seeks to create clearer and coherent way-finding for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles, and a reduction of the current visual clutter and unsympathetic palette of materials, seeking to unify the campus environment. The campus has a number of protected and important trees and retention of them was important to the success of the scheme.
