Approval for change of use of vacant unit on St Benedict’s Street, Norwich

Lanpro have secured approval for the change of use of a unit that has been vacant since 2018 from sui generis to a D2 use.

The application was approved following Lanpro successfully setting out the case that there is no demand for the current use class or for the site to be used for retail use given the length of time that the unit has been vacant, the amount of marketing that has been undertaken and the current change in patterns taking place within retail. The approval will allow the building owners more flexibility in the type of tenant that can take the building on. This is extremely important in the current times with the uncertainty around the future of retail on the high street.
