Deal Ground, Norwich

Lanpro secured an allocation for an urban extension to Norwich on land known locally as the Deal Ground and May Gurney sites in the City of Norwich Local Plan for predominantly residential mixed-use development.

This work included representing the client is a series of complex negotiations in respect of overall scheme viability, the wording of planning obligations and the provision of access rights to the wider East Norwich Regeneration Area.

Lanpro managed planning, architecture, urban design, ecology and flood risk consultants to prepare a layout design for the site. Lanpro then prepared the outline planning application and ultimately secured planning permission for 670 new dwellings, employment
spaces, bridge crossings over the rivers Yare and Wensum and a new Local Centre within the site.

Lanpro worked with climate change experts at the University of East Anglia, University of West of England, JBA Consulting and BACA Architects to complete Technology Strategy Board sponsored’ Climate Adaptive Neighbourhood (CAN) Project for the site
