Assistant Planner / Town Planner

Due to expansion and increased workload we require Assistant Planners or Chartered and soon to be Chartered Planners, to join our team.

Working as part of a highly experienced and professional team you will be expected to provide general planning advice to clients; work on / manage a range of schemes; and develop client relationships. Providing high-quality support to more senior members of the team will also be expected.

Lanpro is an established independent multi-disciplinary consultancy that provides specialist advice in the fields of town planning, architecture and urban design, transport, archaeology, heritage and development viability. The practice is one of the leading expert planning and development consultancies in the East of England with offices in Norwich, Colchester, York and Retford.

A significant proportion of our work is currently with land and property developers and landowners (in a range of sectors e.g. residential, commercial, retail and other businesses). We are also working with clients in the renewable energy, waste, education, leisure and public authority sectors.

We guide clients through the complexities of the development management and planning policy processes, from pre-application and land promotion stages, to post-determination success, and through appeals, Judicial Reviews and High Court action. We produce planning and development appraisals and also offer advice on CPOs, EIAs, Sustainability, Economic and Heritage Assessments.

Profile:

Assistant Planner

You will need to have a recognised planning qualification and be on a path towards RTPI accreditation. We will consider applications from recently qualified graduates but some experience working in the planning profession would be advantageous.

Candidates will need to demonstrate a good understanding of the planning system, have good written and oral communication skills and the ability to methodically work through planning problems.

You must be a team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

The holding of a full UK driving licence would be advantageous.

Town Planner

You will need to be, or soon be a Chartered Member of the RTPI and ideally have in the region of 2-4 years experience with some preferably in the private sector.

Candidates with current local authority experience will be considered but will need to demonstrate previous private sector experience or a strong commercial acumen.

You must be able to successfully manage competing demands, be self-motivated and a team player. You will also need to be a good oral and written communicator and have excellent interpersonal skills.

The holding of a full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
